Jean Galloway Memorial Scholarship Fund

purpose

The purpose of the Jean Galloway Memorial (JGM) Scholarship Fund is to enable young people with spiritual or financial needs to attend camp at a cost that is affordable to them.

In Mark 10:14, Christ commands his disciples: "Let the children come to me; do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God" (ESV). Today, finances are often the biggest hindrance from attending camp. The JGM Scholarship Fund was founded to remove this hindrance.

procedure

Scholarships are determined on an individual basis. We ask that you contribute as much as you can to your child's week of camp. Many families need financial assistance. The more you can provide to help your child, the further we can stretch our scholarship funds to help more families. 

Woodlands will grant partial scholarships for one (1) camp week's fees per camper. Each camper may only attend one (1) week of camp on scholarship. Full financial aid scholarships are not available.

Woodlands reserves 10% of our camper spots in each week of overnight camp for scholarship campers. Availability on our website DOES NOT reflect scholarship availability. Please contact the scholarships@woodlandscamp.org for actual space available when applying for a scholarship.

Scholarships are available until all scholarship spots are filled OR until all scholarship funds have been depleted. Please provide a second choice week in the event that your first choice week is unavailable.

how to apply

If you are applying for financial aid for summer camp, please complete the Financial Aid Scholarship Application. When we have finished reviewing your financial aid request, we will send you an email to notify you about the scholarship amount you are eligible for, as well as login information to be able to complete your registration online.

If you work as a caseworker in Georgia Region 2 for the Division of Family and Children Services (DFCS), are part of a fostering agency or fostering ministry, and you are interested in sending children in state or foster care to summer camp, please complete the Referring Agency Scholarship Form or reach out to scholarships@woodlandscamp.org for additional information on our Referring Agency Scholarships.

For WKND Camp scholarships only, please complete the WKND Camp Scholarship Form. This form is for both referring agencies and financial aid requests for WKND Camp.
