Important INfo

We are so excited your child is coming to Freestyle! They are going to have an unforgettable time at camp, learn more about Jesus and so much more! Below is some helpful information for you. If you have any questions, please contact the office at office@woodlandscamp.org.

Check-in is from 8:00am-9:00am on Monday and 8:30am-9:00am every other day. Please have any camper spending money or medications ready to turn in. The final balance of camp is due two weeks prior to the first day of camp. Please login to your account to pay your balance in full.

Early Pick-Up Form
Alternate Pick-Up Form

lodging

Since campers will be picked up each afternoon, they will get to sleep in their own bed each night!

meals

Campers will need to pack their own school-safe lunch for each day of Freestyle. At noon, we will all eat lunch together. A light snack will be provided each day.

cancellations

If your camper needs to cancel their registration for camp, everything will be refunded except for the deposit. The $50 deposit is non-refundable and is only transferrable to a family member attending a program that summer.

spending money

All campers are required to add a minimum of $10 to their Trading Post account online. However, additional funds may be added to the camper’s Trading Post account online, on check-in day, or throughout the week while your camper is at camp. Campers will be able to visit the Trading Post several times throughout the week. In the Trading Post, there is a variety of toys, plush, candy, apparel, and gear. We recommend putting $10-$30 on your camper’s account.

Any remaining funds will be given back to the card on file on the last day of camp unless specified to donate the remaining balance to the offering.

offering

Each week, we teach our campers the joys of giving generously, then we give them an opportunity to give some of their spending money in our weekly offering. Summer 2023 Causes:

  • Biblica – Biblica focuses on three pivotal focus areas - Bible translation, Bible access, and Bible engagement. This summer’s offering will focus on Bible access by raising enough money to put a Bible in the hands of one at-risk child somewhere in the world for every camper that attends Woodlands this summer!

  • The Seed Company — this organization is dedicated to translating God’s word into every spoken language in this generation. A part of this summer’s offering will help support this cause.

  • The Bible Project — The Bible Project is a non-profit animation studio that produces short-form, fully animated videos to make the biblical story available to everyone, everywhere. They create 100% free videos, podcasts, and resources that help the whole world see the Bible as one unified story that leads to Jesus.

  • Woodlands Scholarship Fund – designed to enable at-risk kids from northeast Georgia to attend Woodlands, experience an unforgettable week, and hear about Jesus. 3,474 at-risk kids have attended Woodlands on scholarship since 1998. 15% of those kids have trusted Christ.

contacting your camper

We are very thankful that you have entrusted your camper to us while they are away at camp and we fully understand and accept the responsibility for their care. However, we do not allow personal phone calls (incoming or outgoing) or personal visitation during the camp session. In the case of an emergency, you will be notified promptly. If a serious concern arises, you may contact the camp office (freestyle@woodlandscamp.org).

visiting policy

While camp is in session, visitors are prohibited unless permission has been granted by the office prior to the visit. Guests are required to check in upon arrival and check out at the camp office. Guests are required to remain with Woodlands' staff or an approved chaperon while on camp property. Woodlands Camp reserves the right to decline any visitation request. If a visitor knowingly fails to comply with any camp policy, they will be asked to leave the premises. If necessary, local authorities will be contacted.

cell phone/smartphone policy

We understand that our culture has become more connected because of the use of cell phones. With that in mind, we do not allow cell phones or smartphones while your camper is at camp. We want our campers to disconnect from the outside world and to be free from distractions so that they can make the most of their camp experience.

If you need to communicate with your camper while they are at camp, please call the camp office (706-865-0853). In the event of any type of emergency at camp, parents/guardians will be contacted promptly.

medications & medical care

Freestyle campers should leave medications at home. Woodlands’ staff does not distribute any medications to Freestyle campers.

Woodlands does not provide medical staff or medical care at Freestyle Synergy sites. We encourage each Freestyle Synergy site to provide their own nurse or medical staff for the week to oversee any specific medical needs of the campers.

In the event of an emergency, emergency services will be notified immediately.

Our office is open from 8:00am-4:30pm on regular business days. In the event of an emergency and you need to contact someone after hours, please call the emergency contact number. To contact the Freestyle admin directly, email freestyle@woodlandscamp.org.
