FOOD ALLERGY POLICY
We want every child to be able to have an amazing, unforgettable camp experience at Woodlands! We strive to provide a variety of options to campers with food allergies.
Food Sensitivities
The kitchen at Woodlands is a nut-free facility. If your camper requires a gluten-free, dairy-free, or egg-free diet, we are able to offer meal substitutions. Please fill out an allergy form and email our Foodservice Manager at least two weeks prior to your camper’s week of camp so we can make the correct preparations.
Severe Food Allergies
If your camper needs additional supplemental/replacement food (due to a severe allergy or issue with cross-contamination), you may pack meals for your camper. The meals need to be delivered to our foodservice staff during check-in on opening day. Please contact our Foodservice Manager to arrange a drop-off for your camper’s supplemental food.
Due to the risk of cross-contamination, the kitchen staff cannot cook individual meals for those with severe allergies. All meals must be pre-made, cooked and pre-packaged in serving size containers that are clearly labeled for each day at camp. A designated severe-allergy refrigerator, freezer, and microwave are available for your campers food.
Please label with the following:
Camper Name (John Smith)
Date to be served (Monday, June 20)
Meal to be served (Breakfast)
If your camper has a food allergy, an allergy form must be completed at least two weeks prior to your camper’s arrival at camp.
Please ensure that your camper is aware of their allergies and know what they can and cannot eat. Our health team provides a red wristband to campers with rescue medication (epipens, inhalers) to alert the staff that medication is available in the event of an emergency. At this time, our kitchen cannot accommodate for severe dye allergies or certain special diets (vegan or vegetarian).
