1) Choose a Check-in Option
Express check-in: You will be directed to the drop-off location, and a staff member will accompany your camper and luggage to the cabin. Check-in will be less than 10 minutes.
Park and check-in: You will be shown where to park, and signs will direct you and your camper to the check-in location. A significant amount of walking and stairs is required. Baby carriers rather than strollers are strongly recommended.
After check-in, you may help your camper move into the cabin. Plan for a 20-30 minute process.
2) Medication Drop-Off with the Health Team
Medications will be turned in to our health team at check-in. Please bring all daily pill & chewable medications in a blister pack, packaged by a licensed pharmacist. Any other medications (ie: inhalers, Epi-pens, injectables, nasal sprays, creams, etc.) should be labeled with your camper's first and last name, and in original packaging. You can find more information on our health and safety page.

Leaving Early
-
We do hope that your camper will be able to stay at camp for the entire duration of camp. In the event that your camper needs to arrive late to camp or leave early, please complete the Late Arrival or Early Pick-Up form.
If an individual other than your camper’s parent or guardian will pick up your camper, please submit the Alternate Pick-up form. Be sure to give this individual your vehicle hang tag (or a photo of it). Alternate pick up individuals who do not have the vehicle hang tag must be cleared by office staff before picking up a camper.
-
We only allow campers to be checked out during our office hours between 8am-8am.
Please see our specific allotted time slots for early-pick up. We will not allow picks-ups outside of the slots available on the form.
We do not allow Early Check-Out on closing day. If a camper is required to be picked up prior to the end of camp, the latest we offer Early Check-Out is 8pm the day before closing (Thursday at 8pm for Junior, and Friday at 8pm for Junior High and Teen).
If an Early Check-Out parent/guardian arrives without their hang tag (given at drop off) a Driver’s License will be required to be scanned by our office staff to ensure safety for our campers.
Cancellations
-
If you need to cancel your camper’s registration, email office@woodlandscamp.org. We recommend emailing as opposed to calling so there is no miss-communication for cancelations.
The $100 deposit is non-refundable but can be transferred to a sibling’s account. If the siblings account is already paid in full, the deposit will be forfeited.
If you cancel your campers’ registration within 72 hours of the start date of their camp (after the Friday before), the entire tuition will be forfeited.
Spending Money
-
All campers are required to add a minimum of $10 to their Trading Post account online. However, additional funds may be added to the camper’s Trading Post account online or throughout the week while your camper is at camp. Campers will be able to visit the Trading Post several times throughout the week. In the Trading Post, there is a snack shop, gift shop, and ice cream shop. The coffee shop is located below the chapel. Using some of their spending money, Junior High and Teen campers will have the option to sign up to play paintball, as well as have a pizza party on the last night of camp. On average, campers spend $50-$75 per week at camp.
-
All campers are required to have at least $10 on their store card at the start of there camp.
Any remaining funds will be given back to the camper via electronic refund unless specified to donate the remaining balance to the offering.
Please refrain from sending your campers with cash.
Offering
-
Each week, we teach our campers the joys in giving generously; then, we give them an opportunity to give some of their spending money in our weekly offering.
Biblica – Biblica focuses on three pivotal focus areas - Bible translation, Bible access, and Bible engagement. This summer’s offering will focus on Bible access by raising enough money to put a Bible in the hands of one at-risk child somewhere in the world for every camper that attends Woodlands this summer!
The Seed Company — this organization is dedicated to translating God’s word into every spoken language in this generation. A part of this summer’s offering will help support this cause.
The Bible Project — The Bible Project is a non-profit animation studio that produces short-form, fully animated videos to make the biblical story available to everyone, everywhere. They create 100% free videos, podcasts and resources that help the whole world see the Bible as one unified story that leads to Jesus.
Woodlands Scholarship Fund – designed to enable at-risk kids from northeast Georgia to attend Woodlands, experience an unforgettable week and hear about Jesus. 3,474 at-risk kids have attended Woodlands on scholarship since 1998. 15% of those kids have trusted Christ.
Contacting Your Camper
-
We are very thankful that you have entrusted your camper to us while they are away at camp, and we fully understand and accept the responsibility for their care. However, we do not allow personal phone calls (incoming or outgoing) or personal visitation during the camp session. In the case of an emergency, you will be notified promptly.
If a serious concern arises, you may contact the camp office (706-865-0853).
Camper Mail
-
Care packages will be collected at each cabin during camper drop-off. Please make sure to clearly label each letter and package with the camper’s name and the day you would like their package to be delivered. Care packages will only be delivered on full days of camp. We will also be offering care packages for purchase in our online store. When checking out, put in your address, and select the “Delivery to Your Camper” shipping option for your items to be delivered to your camper while they are here at camp. All online care package orders must be submitted before lunch on the last full day of camp.

Cell Phone/Smart Phone Usage
-
We understand that our culture has become more connected because of the use of cell phones. With that in mind, we do not allow cell phones or smartphones while your camper is at camp. We want our campers to disconnect from the outside world and to be free from distraction so that they can make the most of their camp experience.
If you need to communicate with our staff or with your camper while they are at camp, please call the camp office. If an emergency arises, please call the emergency contact number 706-865-0853 x122.
In the event of any type of emergency at camp, an emergency action plan will be initiated and parents/guardians will be contacted promptly when it is safe to do so. We have Registered Nurses and Health Assistants that are available 24-hours a day and a doctor that is on-call.
Roommate Requests
-
Roommate requests must be sent AND accepted two weeks before your camper's week of camp starts.
Campers may have a maximum of six campers within their roommate request chain.
If you have a group larger than 6 campers, you are responsible for coordinating with the other guardians and breaking them up into smaller groups of 3 and 4. Once you coordinated groups, please contact the office two weeks prior to their start date of camp and request these roommate chains become bathroom mates. This will ensure your groups are close in proximity as we do not make exceptions to the 6-camper maximum rule.
Make sure you keep in touch with your group as time gets closer to ensure they are all attending as planned as cancellations can break up roommate chains.
-
Go to www.woodlandscamp.org and click on Parent Portal. Login and click on “Registrations” then your camper’s name/week of camp, “Roommate Request” and “Edit”. You may either accept a roommate request by entering a request code that has been emailed to you or you may make a request yourself. To make a request yourself, enter the first and last name of the roommate and his/her parent’s email address. A roommate invitation containing a request code will be emailed to the other parent. The parent will use that request code to accept your request.
Food
-
At Woodlands, our kitchen is a nut-free facility. The Snack Shop and Coffee Shop, however, are not allergy-sensitive environments, so please make sure to talk to your camper about any food allergy concerns before arriving to camp. Campers with severe food allergies of any kind that would require medical intervention will be given a red wristband by our health team at check-in. This red wristband will alert our staff that your camper has a prescribed epipen in case of an emergency.
You can find our policies regarding food allergies on our health and safety information page, as well as our food allergy form linked here. If you have any additional food-related questions, please contact our Foodservice Manager at foodservice@woodlandscamp.org. For medical questions, please contact our Healthcare Manager (Camden) at cmichaud@woodlandscamp.org.
-
Find our Traditional On-site menus here.
Life Jackets
-
All campers must complete a swim test. Those who pass will wear a wristband and may choose whether to wear a life jacket in the shallow end. Those who do not pass must wear a life jacket during all lake activities.
Life jackets are required for all swimmers regardless of the outcome of the swim test for blobbing, deep end swimming, aqua cycling, and boating.
Certified lifeguards are on duty during lake activities.
Is there a difference between Xtreme Camp and Traditional Camp?
-
Yes! Our Xtreme campers have their very own campsite, which is about a 5-minute hike into the woods from our traditional campsite. While our traditional campers have cabins, our Xtreme campers sleep in treehouse hammock shelters. They have bonfires and cook some of their meals at their campsite. However, they will join us for breakfast and several other meals in the dining hall. There is one day they spend on camp enjoying the activities we offer. The rest of the week, they go on Xtreme Adventures, such as hiking, rock climbing, rafting, and even learn survival skills! For more information or questions about our Xtreme Program, please email our Xtreme Program Director, Jacob Pierce, at jpierce@woodlandscamp.org.
