Abuse Prevention
Abuse prevention is very important to us at Woodlands Camp. We educate our summer staff and full-time staff on abuse prevention each summer. We invite a counselor from Darkness to Light to come teach us the signs of abuse and how to prevent abuse.
We also have several other sessions on abuse prevention lead by one of our camp directors. We want all of our staff to understand the importance of abuse prevention and to know the rules and procedures we have in place. Some key concepts we teach our staff are:
Appropriate and inappropriate physical and verbal interactions
How to honor a camper's privacy and dignity
What to do if you encounter abuse
If any kind of abuse is reported, we will take action and contact the appropriate agency immediately.
